This is absolutely fine as there is nothing much to lose when you try to recover your password, but it is not the same case in terms of devices like iPad or any Apple devices such as iPod and iPhone. If you have forgotten your Passcode for your iPad then you have to go through some mandatory steps that will erase all the data on your device and can’t be restored if not taken back up before.

Now, you might be trembling with fear if you are one of the victims who needs to fix forgot passcode on iPad. First of all, don’t panic it is easy to fix! All you have to do is just follow the phases and steps included in each phase to get yourself out of this:

Phase 1: Your device was synced with iTunes, follow these steps:

Step 1:  Connect your device with the same computer which you have used for sync and open iTunes.

Step 2: If you have faced any problem with the step 1 then use recovery mode, otherwise iTunes will automatically sync the device and will create a back up for you. Once the sync is done just simply restore your device.

Step 3: Sync the device with iTunes if you were unable to follow step 2. However, iOS setup Assistant in this step will prompt you to choose to restore from iTunes backup.

Step 4: Finally, just choose the most recent back up from the iTunes.

Phase 2: If you have an Apple ID and your device was connected with icloud, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit (icloud.com/find) and sign in with your Apple ID.

Step 2: From the list of devices, choose the device that you want for deleting all the data.

Step 3: Finally, just erase the data, including the passcode and restore the most recent data with the help of Setup Assistant.

Phase 3: If both phases 1 and 2 are not suitable for you then follow these steps:

Step 1: First of all, make sure your device has no cables connected with it. Then, power off your device by holding the sleep/wake up button and then “slide to power off” to switch it off.

Step 2: Now press the home button and don’t release it while after connecting it to your computer and displaying the iTunes screen.

Step 3: iTunes should notify that it has detected a device for recovery and will prompt you to restore the device.
