Target and Amazon are Selling iPads – Small Discounts are Available

Target has started selling iPads in stores today. Target’s online store is showing details about the iPad but it is not yet available for purchase online.
However, the Target site does allow you to check iPad availability by zipcode or city and state. Most of the stores in my area have the 16 GB Wi-Fi model available but other models are only available at some stores.
Finding discounts on the new touch screen device can be difficult iPads but beginning October 17, consumers who have Target store credit cards will be eligible for a 5 percent discount on their iPad purchase.
Amazon has also started selling some iPad models by Apple, right now only the 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi models are available. Both are the same price as they are through Apple: $599 for 32GB, and $699 for 64GB.
Those who have Amazon Prime are eligible for free shipping and most people will not have to pay sales tax with Amazon. Depending on what state you live in that could amount to a 4% to 8% discount.
The other models are not yet sold by Amazon but third-party resellers have made Apple’s touchscreen tablet available with a premium markup, which doesn’t make when they are available at Apple, Target, BestBuy and other authorized resellers at regular price.
Another option to save a few bucks on your iPad purchase, is to get a refurbished model. Apple does still have some refurbished iPads available with about a 10 percent discount.
