Meet the New iPad Air

This is what everyone was waiting for during the Apple event on Tuesday.
The only new information we really got on the new generation iPad is it’s name, it will now be called the iPad Air, this is representational of it’s lighter weight. The new Air weighs1 pound, .44 pounds less than its predecessor, making it “The lightest full-size tablet in the world.”
The rest of the information is a confirmation of previous leaks. It will have a 9.7-inch Retina Display with narrower side bezel which is 43% smaller . The new unit is 20% thinner.
A new A7 chip inside makes the Air eight times faster than the iPad 4. This is the same 64-bit chip populating the iPhone 5S. iPad Air is 64-bit, and comes with M7 motion coprocessor, which is twice the processor of the previous generation, with 2x faster graphics. It comes with MIMO wireless technology the Air will still use the 802.11n, instead of the more current “ac” designation. The epected battery life is about 10 hours.
Features include a 5MB iSight camera, 1080p HD video, FaceTime HD camera with larger pixels, dual microphones, and improved backside illumination on the camera.
The price for the new iPad Air will start at $399 with the 16GB starting at $499. It will be available in silver, white, and space gray.
The new iPad Air will ship November 1.
