Lots of iPads Are Being Sold But Forget About a Smaller iPad

Apple has released the results for this quarter and there was 4.19 million iPads sold this quarter. Combine that with 3.27 million iPads from last quarter and there has been 7.46 million iPads sold to date. Of course, the fourth quarter is always the strongest for consumer products, iPad sales should be strong this holiday season.

Steve Jobs did squash the rumor about a 7 inch iPad being released, during the conference call.

“There are clear limits on how close you can place things on a touchscreen, which is why we think 10 inch is the minimum screen size to create great tablet apps.” Jobs added.

Steve also mentioned another issue would be developers wouldn’t deal well with these different sizes and they have to change their software every time the screen size changes.

After listening to the conference call, I think we can safely put the smaller iPad rumor to bed.
