Although Apple goes to great lengths to keep future products secret, leaks almost always happen before the launch of a new iDevice. We typically see cases and parts from the new devices before they are actually unveiled and that is the case with the iPad mini.

Even though the iPad mini has not been announced, there are plenty of leaked parts that can be found online. Engadget has found what may be the back housing and digitizer for the iPad mini.

The Wall Street Journal has also reported that the iPad mini has entered mass production, now it’s just a matter of time for the invites to the event to start rolling out.

Apple Inc.’s Asian component suppliers have started mass production of a new tablet computer smaller than the current iPad, people with knowledge of the situation said, as the Silicon Valley company tries to stay competitive against rivals such as Google Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. that are offering smaller, less-expensive alternatives to the iPad.
Two of the people said the smaller tablet will have a 7.85-inch liquid-crystal display with a lower resolution compared with the latest iPad model that came out in March.

Below are some mock-up photos of what the iPad mini is expected to look like. The event is believed to take place on October 17, 2012. We will keep you updated.
