iPad 3 event expected to be on March 7

A new report from The Wall Street Journal claims Apple will announce the latest version of it’s tablet in the first week of March. The report goes on to say that the device will be 4G LTE capable on both Verizon and AT&T when it goes on sale. The report also states that wether or not the device will also sell on Sprint and T-Mobile USA could not be learned.
The Journal has a very reliable track record in the past when reporting on Apple. The launch date is also inline with a report from iMore where they claim the event will be held on Wednesday, March 7. The source from iMore also claims that the iPad 3 will feature a quad-core Apple A6 system-on-a-chip, and possibly 4G LTE networking.
A report from another reliable source, Allthingsd, again confirms that the new tablet will be launched in the first week in March.
Some third party retailers have already started dropping the price of the iPad 2 to as low as $429 for a 16GB Wi-Fi model. Apple could drop the iPad 2 to as low as $399 to compete with lower priced tablets when the iPad 3 goes on sale.
Another thing worth noting is that many major retailers are out of stock of the second generation Apple TV’s. This usually happens when a model is being discontinued and a new model is about to go on sale. It’s very likely we will also see an updated Apple TV 3 when the iPad 3 event is held.
