Flappy Bird T-Shirt Sells for $10,000, Other Flappy Bird Accessories For Less
Have you been mourning the loss of Flappy Bird? If so, there’s no need to worry: according to the latest report, you can get your hands on a Flappy Bird t-shirt for just a whopping $10,000.
The $10,000-priced Flappy Bird t-shirt comes as compliments of the website T-Shirts.com, and the shirt has the message “R.I.P Flappy Bird” with a symbol of the game and the 2013-2014 year designation all placed on an iPhone. The iPhone is placed in front of the shirt’s design. I would like to have seen more of the game’s background make its way onto the shirt in order to provide the “official” look – but it’s likely that Nintendo would have protested this, too, as it is claimed the game manufacturer protested against Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen’s closely-matched game to its own Mario Bros. games from days gone by.
Remember all those ridiculous EBay prices for Flappy Bird smartphones and tablets we told you about? If you’re one that commented on our post or placed your bid at EBay, congratulations – you have started a revolution. T-Shirts.com noticed the hype surrounding “Flappy Bird Collector’s Edition” products and decided to offer its own t-shirt into the fray. When asked about its expensive shirt, Leigh Wendinger, a T-Shirts.com representative, responded with the following:
Since we think it ridiculous that phones pre-downloaded with the game are being sold for astronomical prices, we decided to hop on the bandwagon and also pay tribute to the beloved game in our way.
If you want to own some memorabilia from the game but can’t afford to sell your home and every piece of furniture and clothing you own to get a piece of Flappy Bird history, you can always purchase Flappy Bird t-shirts, hoodies, and iPhone and iPod cases from RedBubble. While you will likely pay $50 for a hoodie, $25 for a t-shirt, and $37-$40 for an iPhone or iPod case, you’ll get to share in the Flappy Bird hype for a smaller amount – and leave T-Shirts.com’s pricing spree to someone who can afford it.
Speaking of $10,000 t-shirts, do you think T-Shirts.com should sell its Flappy Bird t-shirt for this much? Do you think you should sell your Flappy Bird smartphone or Flappy Bird tablet for $10,000? If so, why? Do your thing in the comments below.
