Apple Tops Black Friday Sales

Despite Apple’s lackluster offerings for Black Friday they still did pretty good. Some analysts are claiming a that there was a 9% increase in store traffic compared to last year.Which I find shocking considering that the better deals were found elsewhere.
InfoScout found that the top devices sold on Black Friday, at both Walmart and Target, were 16GB iPads, While Best Buy found the iPad selling in second place.
Walmart’s Top seller was the iPad Mini 16GB, followed by a 60” Vizio TV. The top three items at Target were all Apple iPads. The 16GB iPad Air came in first followed by the 16GB iPad Mini, and the 32GB iPad Air. At Target, over 20% of their Black Friday Sales were Apple products, with the iPads making up approximately 18% of the total store sales. This is ten times the reported sales of their Android tablets.
Best Buy had slightly different Black Friday results with the Microsoft Surface tablet leading the way, however the 16GB iPad 2 wasn’t far behind.
Several analysis companies have looked at the Black Friday results and it seems that all of them agree that tablets will be the most popular gift this Christmas. This is good news for Apple and has given them a projected market boost.
