Apple OSX Mavericks Available for Free

Craig Federighi made the first appearance during the long awaited Apple event to talk about the OS X 10.9 or Mavericks which was shown off last June. This release was about improving overall performance. They increased battery life, memory, and CPU performance. The battery life was improved by about 10%, giving you up to an hour more Internet browsing and 1.5 hours more of music. They have a new feature they call compress memory which they claim makes 4GB act like 6GB. They have also improved system memory with CPU and GPU which changes how the memory is handled.

Probably the biggest change change is how the system blends iOS and OS X experiences, allowing you to use applications like Maps and iBooks.
This big news is that Mavericks is available today and will be FREE for download.
