Apple officially announces iPad 3 event on March 7
It’s official! Apple sent out invitations to the press today for an event that will take place at 10:00 am on March 7, 2012 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The innovation reads “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
The photo shows what is most likely an image of an iPad 3. The spacing of the icon’s on the iPad clearly indicate that it’s in portrait orientation but there is no home button present. Could the iPad 3 be the first iOS device without a home button? It’s certainly possible but it could also just be upside down.
The iPad 3 is rumored to be 0.81mm thicker than the iPad 2 and have a Retina display, faster processor, Hd camera, LTE and possibly have Siri.
9to5Mac is claiming to have sources that indicate Apple will also be unveiling an Apple TV 3 along with a mystery accessory that could be a Bluetooth controller for the new set top box. It seems almost certain that Apple TV will be getting an update that brings the resolution to 1080p and a new A5 or A6 chip.
