Apple highlights “TV Time” in the App Store

We are seeing more apps featuring TV content on iOS devices. Recently NBC, TBS and CBS rolled out apps that allow users to view full-length episodes. Apple is now highlighting some of the best “TV Time” apps in the App Store.

There are apps in the featured “TV Time” section for both the iPad and iPhone that include streaming content, as well as software to help you share, find and learn more about TV content.

Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, Xfinity TV and HBO Go are a few of examples in the featured section of the App Store.

Some of the apps offer full-length movies and TV shows, while other provide supplementary info and experiences that enhances traditional TV viewing and encourages the use of iOS devices. TV apps are becoming a popular way for content providers to promote their TV and video content in a new interactive way, thanks to touch screen devices.
