Apple Asks iPad Users, What will your verse be?

I am not a football fan, and now that the Bears are out of the running even my husband doesn’t watch football, so it appears that I missed something yesterday.
During the game Apple aired a new iPad ad. It begins with some some absolutely stunning scenery shots, then the shots become of people in various locations doing various things, all of this your lead, to believe are iPad shots, or shots of people using iPad. At about the 12 second mark Robin Williams voice enters in and gives you the most poignant speech from Dead Poets Society.
“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering. These are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”
The ad says nothing about an iPad, and if it wasn’t for the product placement or the words on the end of the screen it could be an ad for almost anything. This is a continuation of their attempt to market themselves as more than a toy or a convenient office tool.
They are trying to get you to open up your artistic side and use your imagination. Apple want you to use them as you would a paintbrush or a pencil. To capture the moment and express yourself.
They want their users to add their own poetic verse to the Universe and to life. On the Apple website iPad users, from around the world, are sharing their own poetic visions as they use iPad in all walks of life.
