Apple announces Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

Apple announced that they are releasing Mac OS X Mountain Lion to developers today and to the public this summer. The release will bring over 100 new features, including many features from iOS such as Messages, Notes, Reminders, Game Center, Notification Center, Twitter integration, and AirPlay Mirroring.
Although, OS X Mountain Lion won’t be released to the public until later this summer Apple is letting people get one of the new features stating today. Messages (beta) is available for download now for Mac users for free.
Messages Features
- Send unlimited iMessages to any Mac, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.*
- Start an iMessage conversation on your Mac and continue it on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
- Send photos, videos, attachments, contacts, locations, and more.
- Launch a FaceTime video call and bring the conversation face-to-face.
- Messages supports iMessage, AIM, Yahoo!, Google Talk, and Jabber accounts.
