Apple announces iPad mini and iPad 4

Apple announced today the much anticipated iPad mini to the iPad lineup. The iPad mini features a 7.9 inch display with 1024 x 768 resolution. While it’s not a retina display the iPad mini has 163 pixels per inch (ppi), which is more than the 132 ppi that iPad 2 display has.
The iPad mini is only .28 inches thick and weighs .68 pounds. Apple reduced the width of the side bezels to make the iPad mini comfortable to hold with one hand. The iPad mini comes with Apple’s A5 chip, FaceTime HD camera, iSight camera, lightning connector, Siri and 10 hours of battery life.
All of the 275,000 apps that are optimized for iPad will run on the iPad mini without any updates from the developer.
Smart Covers will also be available for the iPad mini in Pink, green, blue, light gray, dark gray and RED for $39.
The iPad mini will be available for pre-order on Friday, November 2 starting at $329 for the 16GB WiFi model.
iPad 4
Apple also update the 3rd generation iPad to the fourth generation. The iPad 4 comes with Apple’s A6X chip, which delivers up to twice the CPU and graphics performance of the A5X chip. Other new features include a FaceTime HD camera, improved Wi-Fi performance, additional LTE carriers and the new lightning connector.
The pricing for the iPad 4 remains the same as the 3rd generation iPad. The iPad 4 starts at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model and will be available on Friday, November 2nd.
