AC/DC’s entire music catalog is now available on iTunes

The legendary hard rock band AC/DC in now finally releasing their music to iTunes. AC/DC was one of the few acts that held-off on selling their music through digital outlets. The band thought it was important for people to purchase the whole album and not just individual songs.
Last year, the Beatles music catalogue was released to iTunes and a few weeks ago Kid Rock joined iTunes as well. Prior to today, AC/DC was one of the last major holdouts from iTunes.
Lead signer Brain Johnson told Reuters in 2008, “Maybe I’m just being old-fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless ‘em, it’s going to kill music if they’re not careful”.
We’re not sure why the band finally changed their minds, but it most likely had to do with losing sales due to piracy. If people can’t buy your music online, they’re more likely to pirate it for free online.
AC/DC’s full catalog has been Mastered for iTunes. iTunes Match customers can now upgrade “legitimately downloaded” songs to higher quality files.
