Do Not Disturb is a feature with iOS 6 or later that gives iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users more control of incoming calls, text messages and alerts. The feature can be useful while sleeping, during meetings or any other time you don’t want to be disturbed.

The Do Not Disturbed featured can be turned on by going to Settings, then slide the Do Not Disturb toggle to ON. Notice the moon icon appears in the status bar to indicate it is on.

Set a Schedule for Do Not Disturb

Do Not DisturbChanges can be made to your Do Not Disturb setting by going to Setting-> Notifications-> Do Not Disturb.

From here, Do Not Disturb can be turned on automatically during a specific time frame by setting a schedule for it. Just about anyone who hates being disturbed while sleeping will want to set up a schedule for Do Not Disturb.

Are you worried you might miss an important call? Do Not Disturbed can be configured to allow calls from everyone, no one, all contacts on your phone or specific contacts by using favorites.

There is also a Repeated Calls feature that can be toggled on or off. The feature will allow a second call to ring if it’s from the same person and made within 3 minutes of the first call. This is a way to allow people to reach you in case of an emergency.
