The iPhone Dev Team has released untethered jailbreak for all devices running iOS 4.3.1, except iPad 2. The iPad 2 jailbreak will be released after the iPhone Dev Team figures out a legal way to use the jailbreak Comex unveiled only a couple of days after the release of the tablet.

The iDT has updated versions of PwnageTool 4.3 and redsn0w 0.9.6 rc 9 as the jailbreak tools. Unfortunately, this untethered jailbreak tools don’t bring ultrasn0w carrier unlock with them. That functionality will be released in due course of time.

Those having iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 are advised to use PwnageTool, sn0wbreeze or xpwn tools to get a CUSTOM IPSW file so that your baseband that is unlocked gets retained. If you act hasty and update your device with new STOCK IPSW file then you won’t be able to get ultrasn0w unlock working on it.

The new PwnageTool 4.3 and redsn0w 0.9.6 rc9 supports following devices:

  • iPad 1
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 4 (GSM)
  • iPod touch 3G
  • iPod touch 4G
  • AppleTV 2G (PwnageTool only for now)

We will post step by step tutorials soon.
