JailbreakMe Compatibility
JailbreakMe is an incredibly simple way to jailbreak iOS devices. This is the only jailbreak to date that takes place solely on the device without the assistance of a commuter and it is so far the only jailbreak for the iPad 2. Since no one has produced a jailbreak for the iPhone 4S yet, it’s also the only jailbreak that has worked for a device with Apple’s A5 chip.
JailbreakMe was created by a hacker named Comex who went on to be hired by Apple as an intern. The site is now owned by the founder of Cydia, Jay Freeman (saurik).
JailbreakMe takes advantage on a vulnerability related to PDF files. After visiting jailbreakme.com on your iOS device, you can simply tap “Install” and after a couple of minutes your device will have the ability to install apps and tweaks that do not require Apple’s approval.

JailbreakMe currently does not work for the iPhone 4S or on any iDevice with iOS 5 or later.
