It’s been almost 4 months since the iPad 2 went on sale and it’s now finally a jailbreakable device (with iOS 4.3.3).

There has been other jailbreaks released since the iPad 2 debuted but this is the first one compatible with the latest tablet. The iPad 2 is the first of the iOS devices to contain Apple’s A5 chip and is the main reason previous jailbreaks were not compatible with the device.

JailbreakMe 3.0 will not only jailbreak the iPad 2 but also the following iDevices;

  • iPad1: iOS 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPad2: iOS 4.3.3
  • iPhone3GS: iOS 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPhone4: iOS 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPhone4-CDMA: iOS 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
  • iPod touch 3g: iOS 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
  • iPod touch 4g: iOS 4.3 through 4.3.3

The first iPad 2 jailbreak doesn’t get any simpler to install. Just visit jailbreakme.com from Safari on your mobile device and you can install the jailbreak easier than installing an app from the App Store.

It is a good idea to sync and back up your iPad in iTunes before installing the jailbreak. You may also want to save your SHSH Blobs before jailbreaking. Saving SHSH Blobs will allow you to downgrade to a jailbreakable version of iOS if you accidentally upgrade past 4.3.3.

In a few months iOS 5 will be released and it starts all over again.
