iPad 2 and iPhone 4S jailbreak could be released in a week

Following on the heels of the release of the A4 jailbreak last week, Pod2G announced today that he has made progress with the A5 untethered jailbreak and with any luck it could be released in a week. This is very positive news for anyone with an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S awaiting a jailbreak. Typically hackers do not give an ETA and it’s certainly possible Pod2G could run past the one week time frame.
As of yet, Apple has not released an update that patches the A4 jailbreak released last week. According to Pod2G, you can update your A5 device to iOS 5.0.1 and the jailbreak to be released next week will work the current firmware. You will want to hold off on updating past iOS 5.0.1 if Apple releases another iOS update and you are wanting to jailbreak your device.
It is also a good idea to save your SHSH blobs now using TinyUmbrella. Here is more about TinyUmbrella (you can stop at step 7 if you are just saving your SHSH blobs.)
