iPad recover modeWhen your iPad goes into Recovery Mode you will get a pop-up message in iTunes that says the following;

“iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.”

The screen on your iPad will look similar to the one on the right.

Getting your iPad or iPhone out of recovery mode without restoring or updating your software is simple.

All you need is a program called TinyUmbrella.

How to get your iPad or iPhone out of Recovery Mode

  1. First you will need to download TinyUmbrella for your Mac or PC from here.
  2. Make sure your iPad or iPhone is plugged into your computer, then open the TinyUmbrella program.
  3. After a few seconds, TinyUmbrella will detect your iPad.
  4. Make sure the device on the left is selected under Recovery Devices.
  5. Click Exit Recovery.

Exit Recovery Mode

TinyUmbrella will do more than get your iOS device out of recovery mode. The application is primarily designed to save your SHSH blobs for downgrading iOS firmware.
