Whether you want to use iCloud or iTunes, the first thing that you should do is to create a backup of your old iPhone before you can restore all your data to iPhone 7 to prevent data loss. How to Move/Transfer Files and Data to New iPhone 7 using iTunes

After making an encrypted backup of your old device with iTunes, you can restore your data to its new home. This also transfers your passwords, so you do not have to sign in to all your accounts one by one. You will still have to re-install your apps, and Apple Store will provide you a different version optimized for your new device. To start moving data from your old iPhone to new iPhone 7 using iTunes:

Step 1: Launch iTunes on your Mac or PC. Make sure that you have the latest version to prevent any problems during the process.

Step 2: Connect your old iPhone to Mac or PC using cable and click your iPhone when it shows up in iTunes.

How to Move Files and Data to New iPhone 7 using iCloud

You can also transfer your data to your new iPhone 7 wirelessly using iCloud. You may also manually trigger the backup before you start your data transfer to make sure that all your data will be updated. To start moving data from your old iPhone to your new iPhone 7:

Step 1: Connect your old iPhone to Wi-Fi and plug it into power.

Step 2: From Home screen, open the Settings app and select iCloud.

Step 3: Tap Backup and tap Back Up Now.

Step 4: Once the backup is finished, turn your old iPhone off.

Step 5: If you do not have a new SIM card for iPhone 7, simply take it from your old iPhone.

Step 6: Turn on your new iPhone 7 and Slide to Set Up.

Step 8: Enter your iCloud account (Apple ID) to continue.

Step 9: Tap Next and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Then, tap Confirm.

Step 10: Enter your password again when prompted.

Simply wait and keep your iOS device connected to Wi-Fi until the transfer of data is complete. The time of completion will depend on how much data you need to move, including apps and music. Do not disconnect your iPhone even if it starts to feel warm as the Spotlight search and radios are working in the background. If the battery is running low, plug it into power immediately to prevent interruption of your data transfer.

That’s it! Once your backup is finished, you are now ready to use your new iPhone 7. Your data, including passwords, apps and music are already transferred to your new iOS device. If you wish to transfer your data from an Android, Blackberry, or Windows smartphone, you may also do so, but the apps would not be able to transfer.
