Simply enable this feature for your Apple ID so that every time you log in using a new device, it will require an additional step before you continue. 7. Erase Data After Numerous Passcode Attempts

If someone tries to unlock your device with the wrong passcode ten times, it will automatically erase all data in your iPhone or iPad.

There is no need to worry as you can always retrieve your data through iCloud. To enable this feature, open the Settings app, go to Touch ID & Passcode and toggle on the switch next to Erase Data.

8. Delete Messages Automatically

One of the great features that you can use is the Auto-Delete Messages. If there is no need to keep old messages, you can have them deleted automatically. This prevents other people from reading your messages in case you left your iOS device open.

To do this trick, simply open the Settings app and select Messages. Scroll down and tap on Keep Messages. From here, you can choose between 30 days and 1 year. All messages older than 30 days or 1 year will be deleted automatically from your iPhone or iPad.

9. Lock Screen Access

You can disable many features under the Allow Access When Locked page in settings. This prevents other people from making actions to your Notifications View, Home Control, Today View, Siri, and Wallet when your device is locked.

    Very informative and useful for me. I have another query: If I reset my iPhone 7 (ios 11.2.1) to factory settings , does my Apple ID also get permanently deleted? DO I hv to create a new Apple ID when I setup my phone again ?
