Users with iPhone 7, iPad Air 2, and other iOS devices running iOS 10 can now set up and use multilingual typing on their devices. If you have been struggling when it comes to switching languages to express yourself, the predictive QuickType keyboard is now ready to let you type in multiple languages. With this awesome feature, there is no need to switch keyboards as you can activate two or more languages that you often use. You can now use multilingual typing on iPhone 7, 7 plus, or iPad Air 2.

Apple has made a lot of improvements for iOS 10 and that includes the QuickType keyboard. This allows users to type in multiple languages simultaneously and it is very simple to set it up. If the autocorrect feature keeps on bugging you whenever you type in different languages, you would certainly enjoy multilingual typing on your iPhone 7, 7 plus, or iPad Air 2.

Multilingual typing also works for other devices, as long as it is running iOS 10 or later. If you are also using an iPhone 6 Plus and other previous models, you can take advantage of this feature by updating it to iOS 10. The languages supported currently are:

  • English (U.S., Australia, Canada, India and Singapore)
  • French (UK, France, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland)
  • German (Austria and Switzerland)
  • Italian
  • Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal)
  • Spanish (Spain, Latin America and Mexico)
  • Chinese (Simplified, Traditional, and English on the Chinese keyboard)

More languages will be included after the future updates. You can check for the language that you often use from time to time and see if it is already available.

To step up multilingual typing on your iOS device, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: From Home screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPad touch, open the Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on General and scroll down to Dictionary. Tap on it.

All you have to do is to bring up the QuickType keyboard and you can already start typing according to your preferred language. This means that your keyboard will no longer try to correct you every time you use a different language.

If you need to use another keyboard, simply tap and hold the Globe button and choose your desired language from the list. You can also change the order of the predictive words. For instance, if you want the keyboard to suggest Chinese first before French, you can easily do so.
