I was having trouble sending on a COX account. No help was forthcoming from COX support and they told me it was an Apple problem. I was running OS 11.2.2 and tried updating to OS 11.2.5 but still had problem. Apple tried many things (Tier 1 – no help, Tier 2 – no help) finally my issue was sent to Engineers and they had several suggestions, none of which seemed likely. The one that I had not tried was to make my password more complex ( I was already using an 8-digit alphanumeric) — just to say I had tried all their suggestions, I did change my password to an 11-digit alphanumeric. I then deleted the email account (in Settings) and re-added the account. It, by default, created the account with incoming as IMAP port 993 and outgoing as SMTP port 587 — and it worked! I couldn’t believe it! I did the same thing with my iPad 2 which had similar problems and it resolved the issue there as well. Hope this helps someone else. Cheers!
