Waze: Outsmarting Traffic, Together.
When I first heard about Amaze, I had my doubts. I mean, who needs another app to add to their already abundant collection, right? But I’m so glad I let the adventurous and curious side of me take over as Waze is different from Google Maps, Maps by iOS, and the other map apps out there.
Available on Android, Apple and Windows, I hardly know anybody with a smartphone who doesn’t use Waze and really, after months of using it, it isn’t difficult to see why.
Waze is extremely useful as apart from getting to your destination and guiding you with voice prompts, what sets it apart from other map and navigation apps is that it tells you the best way to arrive at your destination so that you are able to bypass traffic and save time. I don’t know about you but where I come from this is very handy and useful as traffic conditions can become hellish especially during rush hours in the morning and in the afternoon.
How exactly does Waze manage to obtain this information? Is the technology simply psychic? Well, in all honesty Waze would not have achieved the success that it has without its users. Users of the app are the ones that allow Waze to outsmart traffic as the user can input information about what locations, roads and areas have high traffic, low traffic, vehicular accidents, etc.
The app is very easy to use and compared to a few months ago, its usability and interface have increased remarkably. You can sync the app to your Facebook account, see which of your friends are on the road, and let them know where you are as well. Waze also allows you to find the nearest gas station, parking garages, banks, pharmacies, convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants, nightlife venues, malls, attractions, hotels, car washes, hospitals, and police stations. So, what are you waiting for? Download Waze now – it’s free!
