Top Ten Free iPad Apps

At last count there are over seven ten thousand iPad apps. iPad apps are growing at a very fast rate, almost double the rate as iPhone apps in the same comparative time frame.
There are some great iPad apps available, many of the iPad apps are free. Here is a list of my top ten free third party apps.

It’s been a couple of months since I started this list, so I’ve updated it with a few more.
Google Earth
The Google Earth app looks incredible on the iPad’s large screen and it functions extremely fast and smooth. The app makes it easy to learn and discover more about anywhere on the planet. Wikipedia and photos are included on landmarks to give more information.
Whistle
Whistle brings mobile VoIP calling to your iPad with you anywhere you can receive a WiFi or 3G signal. You can call anyone in the continental US from anywhere in the world absolutely FREE.
Toy Story Read-Along
This is a really nice app. This app has a interactive reading experience with games, movie clips,coloring pages and more. Even adults should try this app to an idea of how interactive a reading experience can be on the iPad.
PCalc Lite Calculator
Apple did not include a calculator app on the iPad but fortunately there are a few free ones. This is one of the best free calculators. It has two themes and a nice user interface.
ABC Player
This is a nice way to enjoy your favorite ABC shows for free. This is another app that has a great user interface and the videos look amazing on the iPad.
Netflix
If you are a netflix subscriber this is a must have app. You can watch free movies and shows on the iPad and they are in near HD quality.
Kindle
The Kindle app gives you access to all of your Amazon Kindle ebooks on the iPad. Take advantage of Amazon’s larger ebook catalogue as well as hundreds of thousands of free books. You can sync your books across your Kindle, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
Pandora
This is the music streaming app we all know and love. Pandora looks and works amazing on the iPad. This app works best with multitasking, which requires jailbreaking for the time being.
Amazon Mobile
This is a nice interactive way to do your shopping on Amazon. This app is packed with features. You can read reviews, use one-click shopping and even preview music samples.
NPR for iPad
Follow your favorite shows on National Public Radio with this free, magazine-style iPad app, complete with playlist support and an offline reader for text stories.
WebMD Mobile
WebMD answers your medical questions with this well designed iPad app. You can look up symptoms, find drug or treatment information or basic first aid instructions.
Dropbox
Dropbox allows your to view files from your desktop on your iPad via an online file storage service. You can view word processing documents, spreadsheets, slideshows, photos, videos, music, PDFs and other files. Your favorite files can even be synced for offline viewing.
