PocketFinder 2.0 GPS locator app available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Location Based Technologies has announced that users of the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch can download the company’s iOS 5 compatible PocketFinder Personal GPS Locator and Vehicle GPS Locator apps free of cost from the Apple App store.

This new PocketFinder app gives essentially the same features as were available on the company’s web based GPS locator system. Users can zoom down up to street levels on a world map which can be navigated by using gestures on the touchscreens of the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch to locate family members and vehicles with an accuracy level of up to 10 feet. Each of the PocketFinder Personal or Vehicle locator gets updated over the air which means that there is no need for the user to update the devices themselves.

The PocketFinder GPS Personal and Vehicle locators will be available from the Apple Retail Stores and the Online Apple Store as was announced on October 3, 2011.

This PocketFinder App works by locating all the selected PocketFinder Vehicle and Personal GPS locators and this app is user customizable so it lets the user set specific zones in the app so that when a loved one or a vehicle with the GPS locator in it leaves the area an instant alert will sound on your iDevice. Speed alerts can also be set so that when a vehicle exceeds a certain speed limit an alert will be sent via email, text of push notification.

The PocketFinder GPS locator can fit easily into any bag, purse or pocket of a loved one and will provide users with real time locations of the devices on the website or via this app from almost anywhere. These portable GPS locators are very helpful in locating children of elderly citizens who might easily get lost and the devices are very easy to recharge, almost like a cell phone.
