File Taxes on iPad with TurboTax 2010

TurboTax has released a new app designed and optimized specifically for the iPad.

TurboTax for iPad combines the ease and accuracy of TurboTax with the convenience and portability of the iPad.

The TurboTax app is very similar to the desktop version that guides users step-by-step through their return to get the maximum refund.

Customers can e-file their Federal and State tax returns directly from the iPad or print their return to file by mail. After filing, users can check the status of their federal tax refund from the app.

TurboTax for iPad also supports file sharing through iTunes. This means you can create your tax return on the iPad then copy it to your computer because you want to:

• Finish preparing your tax return in another version of TurboTax – and/or –
• Back up your tax file after you have e-filed your return

iPad users can download the app for free from the App store but a preparation fee will need to be payed before the return is filed. The preparation fee starts at $29.99 for TurboTax Deluxe (there’s no additional charge for e-filing).

TurboTax Premier and TurboTax Home & Business are also available for an additional cost.
