Cydia’s Best iPad Jailbreak Apps – Updated for iOS 4.2

Once your iPad is jailbroken, you are probably wondering, what now?

There are several apps, tweaks, and themes available in Cydia that will allow you to customize and add functionality to your iPad. Here are some on the main reasons people are jailbreaking their iPad’s. I have tried them all on my iPad with iOS 4.2.1 and these are some of the best apps and tweaks I have found for the iPad.

Installous

This is one of the main reasons why most people jailbreak their iPad.

Installous allows users to get paid apps for free. The app has been optimized for the iPad and it works fine with iOS 4.21.

To add Installous: Go to Cydia -> Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add

iFile

Another popular reason for jailbreaking is to access all of the files on the device. iFile lets you view and manage files directly on the iPad. Text files can be edited and other files can be sent as email attachments.

Also, to view and mange your iPad files on a Mac, you can install Netatalk (from Cydia) and your iOS device will show up in Finder. Click “Connect As” and use the password “alpine” or “mobile”

AirVideoEnabler

AirVideoEnabler is a tweak that adds AirPlay to videos in Safari and other 3rd party apps. With AirVideoEnabler installed users can stream just about any video playable on an iOS device to Apple TV.

To get the AirVideoEnabler on your jailbroken iPad or iPhone:

1. Open Cydia, tap on Sources, tap on the Edit button and then tap Add.
2. Type in this address.

3. Tap on Add source and wait for it to update.
4. Now, search for AirVideoEnabler and install it.

MultiIconMover

You can probably tell what this tweak does by the name. You guessed it, MultiIconMover allows you to move multiple icons at once on the iPad or iPhone.
There is no icon for the tweak itself, MultiIconMover allows you to add a check on the icons when they are in the jiggle mode. Then, you go to the screen where you want them to appear and tap the home button. They are all move at once, a real time saver.

Activator

Activator is not really a app but it can customize the way you open apps and preform other tasks. For instance, Activator will allow you to turn off your iPad by double tapping the status bar. You can also respring, reset, turn off, lock, etc. by using the home button, slide gestures, volume buttons, motion etc. The number of shortcuts and the way you can control the functions goes on and on.

Wi-Fi Sync

Wirelessly sync your iPad to iTunes with this app. Sync from anywhere within Wi-Fi range (of your wireless network). Sync from the car, bed or whenever it suits you. This app was rejected by Apple but it is available at the Cydia store for $9.99.

Winterboard

Winterboard allows users to change themes, custom lock screens, battery screens, carrier logos and more. The app is optimized for the iPad and it’s free.

SBSettings

SBSettings adds customization of gestures and adds important toggles directly into the Springboard, where they are available instantly. The app does not come with an icon but shows up in settings and can also be changed when the SBSettings window pops up.

To get the SBSettings window, after it’s installed, tap on the status bar at the top or go to Settings > Activator and select which gesture you would like to use to launch SBSettings.

UnlimVideos

UnlimVideos allows you to download and stream movies, TV shows and more to the iPad. The app has been optimized for the iPad and works well.

Cydelete

Now that you have some Cydia apps to install, you will find some that you want to remove.

Cydelete lets you delete jailbreak apps just like regular apps with the small x in the top left corner of the app. There’s no need to go to Cydia to uninstall your jailbreak apps. This is a time saver and it’s free.

DeleteMail

This new tweak will add a “Delete All” or “Archive All” button to your inbox or mail folders in the Mail app. There is no icon added but you will need to go to Setting and enable the DeleteMail extension. Then, once you open the Mail app and tap “Edit”, you will see “Delete All”. You can still delete individual email or delete all at once.

Xsellize

Xsellize is a repo that adds alot of jailbreak apps, tweaks and themes for free.

To add Xsellize: Go to Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add
