How to get paid apps for Free (legally)

I always apply a healthy dose of skepticism any time someone implies I can get something for free but there actually is a way to legally get paid apps for free.

Here’s how it works. There’s a new website called FreeMyApps.com that allows you to accumulate points by downloading and trying free sponsored apps. You will get a credit of 75 points for downloading and trying most of the sponsored apps for 30 seconds. After you have enough points you can download a paid app for free via a coupon code.

Here’s an example of some of the sponsored apps and the paid apps you can get for free.

Apps for Free

I tried this to confirm that it works and indeed it does. I downloaded a total of 7 apps and accumulated 600 points, then I downloaded an app that normally costs $2.99 (550 points) with a coupon code. I tried each of the sponsored apps for at least 30 seconds so, in total it took me about 10-15 minutes to get an app that normally cost $2.99 for free. Out of the 7 sponsored apps that I tried there are one or two I will keep and I will delete the rest.

One nice thing about the site is you don’t have to sign up by entering your name and email address. However, FreeMyApps does require you to install a profile. This allows the site to obtain your devices ID to identify the apps you have downloaded and the amount of points you have.

If you want to give this a try just visit FreeMyApps.com on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
